Climate Change History

Kentucky is presently in the process of developing a Climate Action Plan, assisted by the Center for Climate Strategies (CCS).  As with virtually all CCS-style plans, Kentucky’s plan currently focuses exclusively on the reduction of greenhouse gasses (mitigation). It does not address protective or preservative elements (adaptation).  Wetlands are not a part of this planning process.

Current & Future Action

Kentucky is not engaged in any adaptation actions.

Pilot Programs/Current Studies

The state does not, as yet, have any specific pilots or case studies dealing with wetlands and climate change adaptation.
